Marlena's customized workshops and tutoring enable all students to GET READY for their academic success.
Marlena Scordan Weglin is the mother of two children: a son in high school and a daughter attending WSU Graduate School. Marlena earned a BA degree at Central Washington State University. She has a MA from Seattle University with an Emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction.
Marlena has been a teacher at the Edmonds and Highline School Districts. She taught first, third, fourth grades and Junior High. Marlena was a Foreign Language Specialist in the Elementary School.
For the national Project Early Warning program, Marlena was directly responsible for identifying why students were not learning.
In addition, Marlena has worked with KCTS 9 as an Education Specialist where she trained students and teachers how to effectively utilize television. She used her knowledge of television and education as the University of Washington's Director of Media Systems to initiate and program the UW cable network.
Marlena was the Director of Video Telecommunications for Washington State Community Colleges. She developed a Community College Consortium for Distance Learning via video.
Marlena has worked as a Language Skills teacher.
Currently, Marlena is a private tutor for K-12 students (grades 6-12 at SAAS) and she teaches test preparation programs for middle and high school students.
